On August 5th, 2020, the AZSITE Board appointed an Ad Hoc Advisory Committee to serve in the Advisory Committee's place until its seats were filled by the Governor's Office.
The Ad Hoc Advisory Committee’s purpose was to advise the Board on matters of concern to AZSITE users and to assist as requested with improvement and development of the AZSITE platform. The AHAC included representatives of state and federal agencies, tribes, local governments, academia or non-profit institutions, private consulting firms, and the public interest (e.g., utilities, mining companies, developers, ranchers) to ensure diversity of input. AHAC positions were filled for two-year terms and meetings were held quarterly.
The Ad Hoc Advisory Committee ceased operation in 2024 as AZSITE worked with the Governor's Office to reconstitute the Advisory Committee.
