Crosses the state west to east from Yuma east to Gila Bend and turning north to Buckeye. East into Phoenix where it joins up with US89 continueing to Apache Junction and turning south toward Florence and into Tucson where is splits with US89. US80 heads east to Benson, turning south to Bisbee, Douglas and then back northeast to the Arizona - New Mexico Boarder.

Crosses the entire state north from Fedona to the south, turning east into the Navajo Reservation near Marble Canyon, turning south. Coming out of the Res lands south into Flagstaff and then following I-40 west through Williams till it gets to the AT&SF RR heading toward Prescott and US89 sort of parallels the RR south to Prescott. It then winds slightly west, then southeast to Phoenix - Tucson and eventually out the state at Nogales. According to reports (see ASM Project 1998-529) the site was formerly known as US80/US89 citing ADOT as dropping the US80 designation in 1977 and then dropping the US89 designation in 1992 when it was redesignated as SR79.
